Pathway to Wellness
A Comprehensive Obesity Program for Children
Understanding the Impact of Unhealthy Weight
Children who are above their healthy weight range are more vulnerable to serious health problems, including type 2 diabetes, depression, heart disease, and disabilities. Our comprehensive Pathway to Wellness obesity program for children focuses on the impact of unhealthy weight and looks to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of your child.
Creating a Pathway to Wellness
Our Pathway to Wellness program works with each child on an individual basis to create a plan that works for them. We focus on factors such as nutrition and physical activity, and engage with the family to ensure that the child is supported in their journey. Our program also focuses on the psychological impacts of obesity, helping to build resilience and self-confidence. The pathway includes:
• Analysis of current nutrition intake.
• Calorie and exercise guidelines to help your child achieve or maintain an ideal body weight.
• Develop strategies for healthy eating in real-world, everyday settings and healthy attitudes towards
body image and food.
• Participation in our Healthy Living Reward Program.
